Questions
Where does the wind forecast come from?
From weather models run by national weather services, updated through the day. Forecasts cover about seven days and are most reliable for the next three. Headwind Planner works out the wind at each stretch of road for the time you'll be driving it.
Are the weight figures exact?
No, they're careful estimates using manufacturer figures and typical accessory weights. They're a good guide to whether you're close to a limit. Your vehicle's compliance plate and a weighbridge reading are what count legally, and the app tells you where to get weighed.
Can I use it now?
Headwind Planner is being tested by a small group of caravanners before it launches on Google Play. Join the founding member list and tick the box if you'd like to test it. We'll send invites as places open up.
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes, open the app in Safari and use Share, then Add to Home Screen. Pro subscriptions start on Android through Google Play; iPhone subscriptions will follow.
Does it need phone signal?
The app itself opens without signal once it's on your home screen, and your rig and saved trips stay on your phone. Getting a new forecast, route or fuel stops needs a connection, so plan your next leg while you've got signal.
How do I pay for Pro, and is it safe?
Through Google Play, with the payment details already saved in your Google account. We never see or store your card. You can cancel any time in the Play Store.
Is it a replacement for a GPS or navigation app?
No. It plans the trip around the wind, weights, fuel and rest. When you're ready to drive, it hands your route to Google Maps or Waze.
