Headwind Planner

Terms of use

Last updated 11 October 2026

These terms apply when you use the Headwind Planner app and website. Headwind Planner is run by a small Australian business based in Queensland ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to these terms. When you sign in, you'll be asked to tick a box to confirm this, and we keep a record of the date and the version you agreed to. If we change these terms, we'll ask you to agree again. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

What Headwind Planner is, and isn't

Headwind Planner helps you plan road trips while towing: wind along the route, the best time to leave, towing weights, fuel, rest breaks and servicing. It is a planning aid only.

Places such as fuel stations, rest areas, dump points, campsites and mechanics come from open map data and government lists, and may be missing, closed or wrong. Always check signs on the day. Fuel prices shown during testing are samples, not real prices, until live price feeds are connected.

Your account

You can use the free version without an account. To use Pro or save trips across devices you'll need to sign in with an email address you control. Keep access to your email safe, because anyone who can read it can sign in to your account. You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see our privacy policy).

Fair use

Please don't misuse the app: no automated scraping, overloading our services, trying to get around the Pro lock, or copying the app or its data to build a competing product. We may limit or close accounts that do.

Our content

The app, its design, text and calculations belong to us. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and other providers named in the app. Rest areas, dump points and State Forest campsites include data © State of New South Wales (Transport for NSW), © State of Queensland (Department of Transport and Main Roads) and © State of Victoria, used under Creative Commons Attribution licences. Facilities and closures can change, so always check signs on the day. You may use the app for your own trips.

Your rights under Australian law

Our services come with guarantees that can't be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those rights. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for loss caused by relying on forecasts, estimates or third-party information in the app, and our total liability to you is limited to resupplying the service or refunding what you paid for it in the past 12 months.

Changes, ending and law

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and tell signed-in users about important changes. You can stop using the app at any time. These terms are governed by the law of Queensland, Australia.
